There are not many books that we come across which are entertaining, witty and at the same time also relevant to the promotional industry, but we have come across one and it is called Just my Type by Simon Garfield.
This book tells the story of how different fonts came into being. There are real people and stories behind all the fonts we use on a daily basis. These stories are told in a fun and witty way in this book and you begin to realise that from the moment you wake up in the morning and look at the newspaper to the time at night you put that book down in bed or turn the TV adverts off, you are surrounded by fonts. These fonts have been deliberately selected to have a certain impact.
Understanding this can help us with designing corporate promotional merchandise and have fun at the same time.
